MMS – A Medical Supply Company was founded in 1970 under the name Midwest Medical Supply Company, Inc. and focused on the acute care market.  The company goal of becoming the most Customer driven healthcare provider is as important today as it was over thirty-five years ago. MMS remains a privately held company and was purchased by the current owners in 1996.   MMS’s business plan incorporates both organic growth and strategic acquisitions, such as the Perigon Group in 2002 and Harris Hospital Supply in 2003 in addition to multiple healthcare specialty distributors and their experienced teams. 

In 2006, MMS doubled its size with the acquisition of hospital and extended care divisions previously owned by Henry Schein, Inc.  With this acquisition, MMS also became a major presence on the East Coast.   In 2007, MMS has 11 distribution centers in the U.S. and one in Guam and more than 400 employees.  MMS is the largest independent healthcare distributor in the U.S.   MMS is ranked in the top 75 privately held companies in its home state of Missouri. While completely focused on medical and healthcare products, MMS has leveraged their supply chain efficiencies to create customized service models across the entire continuum of care.   MMS offers customer service, easy ordering, focused formularies and channel expertise for:
